Born on 22nd January 1969 to Olatunde and Abosede Adetutu Odusami in Lagos, Nigeria, Abimbola was the eldest of six siblings. She completed her education in Lagos, where she met her husband through a mutual friend at school in the summer of 1986.

Abimbola and Abisoye married in Nigeria at Ikeja Registry on 26th December 1992. Followed by a traditional wedding on the 24th July 1993 at the Odusami residence in Shomolu, Lagos.

Abimbola relocated to the United Kingdom after the wedding in August 1993 to be with her husband. She trained as a teacher at University of East London and began her first teaching job at Winsor Primary School, Beckton in September 1997.

Abimbola’s career consisted of full-time and supply primary school teaching, as well as entrepreneurialism through her fashion store in Nigeria, ‘Fashion 2day’ and e-commerce platform ‘Felat Store’.

Her last teaching role started in 2007 at Ellen Wilkinson Primary School (EWPS). During her time at EWPS, Abi was the Initial Teacher Training Coordinator, School Governor (Teacher Representative), the Global Lead Coordinator and Modern Foreign Language coordinator which helped EWPS to be awarded Mandarin status.

Abimbola is survived by her husband and four wonderful children.
