The challenges we face in Colombia are heartbreaking, many of our children are trapped in poverty, lacking the love of a parent and living in fear of neglect and abuse. But our staff at the Emmanuel Care Centre are motivated to end the cycle of abuse and are a voice for the voiceless, always on the lookout to rescue children from terrible circumstances, giving them support and love in their moment of need.
Every day, 230 children eagerly attend the care centre to receive a hot meal, adult supervision, have a safe place to play and receive educational support. But education alone is not enough to address the devastation of neglect and abuse in children’s lives. The care centre is also a place where parents can receive training and where our two psychologists are always at hand to listen, support and guide children and parents as they overcome trauma.
Delivering this support is vital. Without it, kids like Yerazade would have nowhere to turn. Our sponsors do a wonderful job of helping us to financially and emotionally support the children, but, this year, we need your help to raise an additional £70,000 to continue to deliver this life-changing care.
A donation of £21 can provide a child with essential trauma counselling and a donation of £105 can provide group training for parents as we seek to prevent neglect and abuse, protecting children and bringing God’s light into their lives. Please know that whatever you can give will be gratefully received.
Will you join us in providing the psychological and emotional support our children need to heal? Together, we can help the Emmanuel Care Centre continue to be a champion for each and every one of our kids and bring hope into their lives.
