In 2020 we will be working with Stand By Me in launching our medical program to Ethiopia, providing Health Care to the children of Bekoji.
Ethiopia is one of the poorest countries in the world, where famine, HIV Aids and extreme poverty is a normality.
Our aim is to develop a sustainable support program to enable local providers in delivering medical care to the children and their immediate family members. Our first trip in January 2020, will involve health screening for over 450 children at the local school and identifying medium to long term needs, developing connections and relationships with local healthcare providers. There is a real demand for good expertise to ensure that the right care and advice is given to these children in need. We have gathered a team of experts from around the North West, from GPs, to doctors, nurses and paediatricians, all of whom are volunteers. We aim to expand this team going forward to assist in providing remote and onsite medicine, advice and education.
We hope that you can support this project by donating through Stand by Me to Ethiopia Medics 2020.
Money raised will be used directly to provide medical equipment, medicines and supplies, improving the IT infrastructure and supporting the current onsite nurse in Bekoji, based at the Bethany school, founded in 2002.
We would also encourage child sponsorship, which would support a children’s education, meals school uniform and healthcare needs.
Thank you!
