This February, I am spending the month sleeping on the floor to raise money to buy a bed for a family in Ethiopia. There are families who spend every night sleeping on the cold, hard floor so I'm taking on the "February on the floor" challenge so that they no longer have to and instead can sleep in a comfortable bed.
I look around the world and I see people suffering, struggling and I want to help them. If I can make a difference in the life of one child or one family then I think that is worth doing, whether it’s in the UK or wherever, in this case Ethiopia. Stand By Me is not a high profile charity but I have supported them for a few years now and I am very impressed and excited by what they are doing around the world. I will sponsor myself so it’s not just a case of asking other people to support ‘my’ charity. The invitation from Stand By Me was to sleep for a week on the floor. I like to ‘earn’ my sponsor money so I’m going for the full month.
I know that a bed will transform this family's life. Please give generously as I would love to give the gift of a bed to as many families as possible.
