Stand By Me

The best way to get involved is to sponsor a child

Of course we were going to say that. But we only say it because it’s true. Sponsoring a child transforms a child’s life, not only by providing for their physical and educational needs, but also helping them feel loved and part of your family.

Or spread the word.

Encourage a friend to sponsor a child

There are some very special kids in our care that would benefit from the support and encouragement of a sponsor.

If you think you know someone who would make a great sponsor and they need a bit of encouragement, email [email protected] She can send you a link to a child who needs sponsoring so that you can champion them among your friends.

Join a fundraising event

Why not take part in one of the hundreds of organised events happening every week across the UK and raise money for Stand by Me? Whether you choose the local half marathon, 50k cycle, muddy assault course or jumping out of a plane, we can set up a Stand by Me online fundraising page for you like this one to support the children in our care.

Email [email protected] or call 01708442271 to speak about national events or local ones in your area, to set up an online fundraising page or to talk through your fundraising.

Organise your own event

We have hundreds of supporters all over the country organising fundraising events. Whether as an individual or as a group within their office, school, church or youth club. From the more traditional quizzes, gala balls and coffee mornings, to the more personal like making bracelets and receiving donations in lieu of gifts for birthdays, anniversaries and weddings. If you want to fundraise, we are here to help!

We can help you set up a fundraising  page and you can download our ideas, tips, sponsorship form, poster and press release template. Email [email protected] or call 01708 442271.

Invite us to speak at your business, school or church

There is nothing we enjoy talking about more than the kids whose lives have been changed as people like you get involved.

Invite us to speak at your event, school, church, gig, birthday party, or whatever you have in mind. We’re pretty sure we’ll do our best to get there (we love a good get together). If we can’t make it, we’ll give you the help, encouragement and resources you need to share some great stories about our kids yourself.

Get your school involved

There are loads of ways your school can get on board. School visits, teaching resources, school fundraising ideas or signing your class up to sponsor a child or school.

Get in touch if you’d like your school to be involved and one of our team will follow up with more details.

Go on a team

Every year we send out a range of teams to help with exciting holiday clubs, building projects and to meet our amazing kids.

Team trips vary in location, purpose and time of year so if you think you would like to be involved get in touch and we can explain the possible options for you.

Become an advocate

No one tells the story of how much you love Stand by Me kids better than you.

You’re the champions for our kids and there’s no holding you back. By talking to your friends and family about our kids, you are advocating for them. And when you share their stories with the people you know, your enthusiasm and passion is infectious.

And you’re not alone! We can help you. We have a pack to equip you to engage with your friends, family and acquaintances. The pack is full of resources and ideas on how you can be an advocate. From lending your voice on social media to organising events. From fundraisers or speaking about our work. Or just meeting up with us and sharing ideas. You’re such a big part of Stand by Me and we’d love to get to know you and change the lives of children together.

To find out more, email [email protected] or call 01708 442271. We'd love to hear from you, equip you and celebrate your successes. Let's learn from each other.

Remember our kids in your will We would also encourage our supporters to consider leaving a gift in their will, it’s simple to do and can leave a lasting impact.
Stand by... almost there...
