Stand by Me is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of safety, integrity, and respect in all aspects of our work. We believe every individual has the right to live free from harm, abuse, and exploitation, and we are committed to ensuring the security and wellbeing of all those who interact with our charity, including beneficiaries, staff, volunteers, and members of the public.
We are particularly dedicated to safeguarding children, vulnerable adults, and those at risk. Our staff, volunteers, and representatives are expected to uphold these principles by:
• Promoting a culture of dignity and respect.
• Creating and maintaining safe environments.
• Identifying, preventing, and responding promptly to any safeguarding concerns.
This includes protecting individuals from:
• Physical, emotional, and sexual abuse
• Neglect and exploitation
• Discrimination and human trafficking
We encourage anyone - whether a member of staff, a volunteer, a beneficiary, or a member of the public - to report any concerns about the conduct of our representatives or the safety of those we work with.
Concerns can be raised through the following channels:
• Email: safeguarding@standby.me
• Phone: 01708 442271
All reports are treated with the utmost confidentiality, and we will act swiftly and appropriately to address concerns. All safeguarding concerns are taken seriously and investigated thoroughly. Where necessary, we take action in line with our safeguarding policy, which may include disciplinary measures.
We recognise the importance of supporting our staff and volunteers. We provide training to help them identify and respond to safeguarding concerns and offer ongoing support to ensure a safe and fulfilling working environment.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. By working together, we can create a safe and inclusive space for all.
