Griffin lives with his single mother and seven siblings. The family live in their own home which has an iron sheet roof. The family fetch their water from a river. Griffin's mother earns a small daily income to pay for the needs of her household, but it is difficult to provide for her children's school fees.
Being part of the Stand by Me sponsorship programme enables Griffin to have a quality education, along with access to daily meals, healthcare and support.
Griffin is not a shy boy at all; he is very talkative and loves talking with people. He loves going to church and helping his mother with the household chores. He enjoys reading and he is very kind and caring towards others. Griffin really enjoys playing sports in his free time.
The Open Arms Village was founded in 2006 to meet the immediate needs of orphaned and abandoned children in western Kenya who were suffering from a wide variety of life-threatening diseases. After the 2008 political violence left thousands of children orphaned, abandoned and homeless, the project grew to support more children. Today, the Open Arms Village is now home to over 150 children with 10 purpose-built family homes and the Open Arm Academy is educating children and giving them a hopeful future.
When you sponsor Griffin you will receive a pack in the post with his story and photo. Every year you will receive an update about his progress, a new photo and at least one communication from him.
