Trip Update: Fay's visit to Romania

Romania Tuesday, 05 May 2026

I wanted to share with you an update from my recent trip to Romania to visit the children at our Denisa Day Care Center. I had the privilege of taking a small team to teach sewing skills to the children, to encourage confidence in math and to give the children a view of themselves as part of a big world-wide Stand by Me family that cares about each other.

Brighter futures in Colombia

Colombia Monday, 24 November 2025

In the Banana Zone of northern Colombia there is very little hope. Families live in terrible conditions, far below the poverty line and are surrounded by the constant threat of violence. For children growing up in a small, neglected town, the cycle of poverty seems inescapable and the chance of a brighter future, impossible.

Welcome Home, Titus

Kenya, Wednesday, 17 April 2024

My heart breaks every time I receive an emergency phone call to tell me that another baby in Kenya has been abandoned, left all alone at the very start of their precious life.

It wasn’t long ago that I received one of these calls and was told the story of a little boy who was found in a plastic bag on the side of the road. The baby boy was only a few hours old.

Remember Joshua?

Kenya, Thursday, 07 March 2024

It was in November a couple of years ago when a young woman walked into a maternity ward in Kenya, prepared to deliver a baby that she knew she would not be able to care for. She knew that sometimes love means letting go so the person you care for can have a better future.

On that day, a little, delightful ray of sunshine was born. His name was Joshua. Soon after, thanks to your kind support, Joshua was able to come home to our Open Arms Village.

Stand by... almost there...
