A place at Stand by Me's Abdi Academy offers far more than education. It means medical care, practical support and the chance to build a better future. Many children arrive with little or no early learning experience. Yet, because we only have space for one year of kindergarten, they move into Grade 1 before they have built the strong foundations they need. For children who are starting from so far behind, one year of kindergarten is simply not enough.
That is why we are stepping out in faith. We want to build a dedicated Kindergarten Centre at Abdi Academy, allowing us to offer two full years of kindergarten education, KG1 and KG2, with four bright classrooms, toilets and a secure outdoor play area.
The centre will give children more time to grow in confidence, develop essential literacy and numeracy skills and be fully prepared for primary education. We are determined to open this Kindergarten Centre for September 2027 to provide the best start for the next generation of children.
Thanks to generous donors, we are 65% of the way to meeting our goal. To make the Abdi Kindergarten Centre a reality, we need to raise the final £105,000. Every gift, large or small, will help create a place where children can learn, play and discover the future God has planned for them. Together, we can ensure more children have the time they need to build a strong foundation for life.
