Get ready to turn the page on an exciting week of stories, imagination and giving! The Chepstow Read‑A‑Thon 2026 is not only a celebration of the joy of reading, it’s also a chance for our school community to make a real difference. This year, we are proud to support Stand By Me and raise funds for our linked school in Kenya, the Open Arms Academy to help them create a Library and Literacy Support Hub.

Throughout the week, children are encouraged to read as much as they can - curling up with favourite books, discovering new authors and sharing their love of reading with friends and family. Every page turned helps us raise vital support for the pupils at the Open Arms Academy, strengthening our connection and helping provide opportunities for children just like ours.

We would be delighted if sponsors could take a moment to send the child they are supporting a short message of encouragement or congratulations, alongside their donation. A few kind words can be incredibly motivating and will help our young readers feel proud of the difference they are making.

Let’s read, be inspired and change lives - one book at a time! 📚✨

Children will be awarded Read-A-Thon badges based on the total amount of minutes read. This fundraising initiative is a celebration of the wonderful reading habits that takes place at Chepstow House School.

Thank you for your support and helping us make a difference for our school charities.

The vision is to create a Library and Literacy Support Hub by converting a very large store room. This will need to be renovated to create an inspiring space for students of all ages. Stand by Me are raising money to enable this to happen and we hope the Read-A-Thon will help to equip it with some of the tables, chairs, books and bookshelves that will be needed to make it a truly wonderful space.

Stand by Me rescues kids from extreme circumstances, then provides the care, love and attention they need to thrive. They care for over 4,000 kids across the world, from Myanmar to Colombia to Ethiopia and we partner with them on their school in Kenya. No two of the children they care for are the same, some are orphaned, some abandoned, some abused or living in extreme poverty, so they take care to meet each of their individual needs from food and healthcare, to loving parents and quality education, enabling them to reach their potential, stand on their own two feet and become who they were created to be.
