This May half term will mark the third visit by a team of staff from Chepstow House School to one of Stand by Me’s projects. These visits provide a valuable opportunity to share their knowledge and expertise, gain a deeper understanding of how Chepstow’s fundraising is transforming children’s lives, and, most importantly, spend time with the incredible children being supported.

During this trip, staff will teach classes, spend meaningful time with children living in Stand by Me’s homes, and learn more about the impactful community empowerment work taking place. They will also walk home with some of the children to better understand their daily lives and circumstances. Excitingly, the team will play a key role in establishing a new library and literacy support hub at the school, helping to create lasting opportunities for learning and development.

If you sponsor a child at the Open Arms project, a wonderful way for you to begin your sponsorship is by asking the visiting teachers to take a children’s book to the project for the new library. Perhaps you can pick a children's book your own child loved. The teachers will then read this book to your sponsor child and look forward to sharing photos and videos of this special moment with you.
