This May I'm taking on one of the biggest challenges of my life to raise some support for the incredible kids in the care of Stand by Me. I've had the privilege to travel to meet some amazing children in the far flung places of the world and have witnessed first hand the challenges that kids face, many without simple things like food, clean water or a chance to go to school. However, we can make an incredible difference by giving kids the love, care and support they need at our Stand by Me schools and care centres.

On Friday 16th May I am travelling to a small town called Malaucene in France at the foot of Mont Ventoux, a gruelling mountain that features in the Tour de France. The challenge is to become a member of the 'Club des Cingles' by cycling up the mountain three times in one day! The route is 85 miles long with over 14,000 feet of climbing and the average time to complete the challenge is between 7-10 hours.

The mountain stands at 1910m above sea level and I'd love to raise £1 for every metre!

As I take on this challenge I'd love to have your support - every donation will make a huge difference in lives of kids all around the world.

Thank you!

Project Updates

Challenge Complete!

It’s hard to express what I am feeling - the elation of completing the toughest thing I’ve ever done, but the thing that stands out the most is the support that has been raised for our Stand by Me kids. I set a target of £1910 and we have smashed it! I’ve seen first hand the difference that the support makes and I can’t thank everyone enough for their part in this challenge, whether you donated or wished me well! Thank you so much.

Warm Up Day

We arrived in Malaucene to the same temperature as home, but what a place this is… Tomorrow I take on the challenge that we’ve been waiting for. Many hours of training and lots of support along the way. Thank you to everyone that has donated so far to kids that we care for at Stand by Me - they are the reason for all of this.

And so it begins…

The day has arrived to head off to France in search of the craziest challenge I’ve attempted to date. Can't say I love packing when you’ve a million things to remember.

Thanks to everyone that has donated so far, it makes a huge difference in the lives of kids at Stand by Me. Special mention to Caris Farrell who made me a sign to spur me on!

Stand by... almost there...
