In October I am part of a team going to Ethiopia with Stand by Me. We'll be helping in projects at the Stand by Me Bethany School where over 500 children are receiving a free quality education, daily food and healthcare. We'll also be visiting the Bethany Children’s Village which provides a loving family home for orphaned and abandoned children as well as visiting families in the community, seeing first-hand the poverty but also the hope that the work of Stand by Me brings.
There are many challenges that the children, their families and the community face and I have set myself a challenge of walking 10,000 steps every day and I will also be giving up my bed and sleeping on the floor for the whole month of July to raise money to meet their needs. Our goal is to provide a new pair of shoes for 400 primary school children and food parcels for 100 families in the community. A new pair of shoes costs £10 and will help protect children’s growing feet while a food parcel costs £50 and will supply a struggling family with essential food and staple items for up to one month. I am so grateful for your support. Thank you.
Stand by Me rescues kids from extreme poverty, then provides the care, love and attention they need to thrive. Stand by Me cares for over 3,800 kids across the world, from Myanmar to Colombia to Ethiopia, meeting their individual needs from food and healthcare, to loving parents and quality education. Through their homes, schools and care centres, Stand by Me is enabling children to reach their potential and become who they were born to be.
