Our Bethany School in Ethiopia has been teaching disadvantaged children since 2006. Our students are hard working and we couldn't be prouder of their achievements. Last year’s grade eight pupils achieved an average of 75% in their final exams - what a bunch of bright sparks! They have now started in grade nine, joining our grade ten students at High School.
University in Ethiopia is free if children are successful at High School. If our children can’t attend university, we help them through Technical College where they can qualify in trades like carpentry, plumbing, electrics, tailoring, metal work and computing. Our challenge is to help as many children as possible complete a High School education and this year we are supporting 95 students at the local school.
At High School our children need school fees, uniforms, educational resources and even a little pocket money now and then. We carefully monitor their progress and encourage them to return to Bethany School for mentoring and extra tuition. All our students are making excellent progress, despite the pressure to ‘drop out’ and earn a little money working in the fields.
Supporting our children through High School and on to University or college will radically change their lives and ensure a successful future for themselves and their families. Would you like to support these amazing kids who are working exceptionally hard to overcome any challenges put in their way? With your support they will have a chance to thrive.
