On the 25th July, I am dying my hair pink! I am making this dramatic change to raise funds to help purchase rice fields in Myanmar to provide food security for the children in Stand by Me's care at such an unpredictable time. I will be having my hair coloured pink at Reflections Hairdressers who have generously covered the cost of the colouring and the colouring will be done by my lovely granddaughter who is a hairdresser.

Stand by Me's work in Myanmar is close to my heart and I have visited the projects there and met the wonderful staff and incredible children who have been rescued from poverty and are provided with love and care. The recent political unrest in Myanmar has caused the cost of food to rise and banks and markets to close, as a result, thousands of people have faced starvation. Stand by Me was able to provide over 2000 families with food parcels to ensure they had adequate food, but Stand by Me want to do more to ensure food security for the children in their care.

By purchasing rice fields, Stand by Me's projects will be able to grow their own rice and have a reliable source of food throughout the year and never go hungry. I'm hoping my small act of fundraising can contribute towards providing food security for the precious children in Stand by Me's care.

The approximate cost of a rice field is:

1/4 acre - £450
1/2 acre - £900
1 acre - £1800

I would be so grateful for any contribution you can make and with your help we will ensure the children in Stand by Me's care can receive food to keep them healthy, growing and thriving!

Thank you so much
Lynda
