We will be a team of 10 this year including Abi, Adeeba, Frances, Joe, Jon, Liz, Michelle, Naomi, Ralph and Sarah. In June 2023 we are going to Ethiopia with Stand by Me to visit their work where they are changing the lives of hundreds of children who have been rescued from extreme poverty and giving them the opportunity to reach their full potential.
We'll be helping in projects at the Stand by Me Bethany School where over 500 children are receiving a free quality education, daily food and health care. We'll also be visiting the Children’s Village which provides a loving family home for orphaned and abandoned children. We will also be visiting families in the community, seeing firsthand the poverty but also the hope that the work of Stand by Me brings.
There are many challenges that the children, their families and the community face and we are hoping to fundraise to complete projects to enhance their lives. We recognise that it is a priority to ensure that the children and their families are able to eat consistently in order to sustain them through each day as well as helping them to maintain concentration while studying. We would therefore like to make our first focus for raising finances to go towards providing family food parcels, £55 provides a small food parcel to feed a family and £75 provides a large food parcel to feed a family.

We are so excited and thankful for all the donations made so far and have been able to meet our first target of 100 food parcels. This is so amazing!
Our next target is to provide education supplies for as many children as possible at the school. To supply a child with all the necessary books, pens and pencils they need costs £16.
