20 years of caring for kids in Romania
Rescuing 10 girls from neglect in state orphanages in Romania 20 years ago was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. The House of Hope has since grown into a loving family with Cami, our Romania director, as a wonderful mum to these amazing girls. Cami tells us what it’s like to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the House of Hope.
“This year we are celebrating 20 years since we started our work in Dobrun, Romania, since we took home the first baby girl. I am humbled of the faithfulness people showed during all those years. There are people who supported this work for the entire 20 years and I am happy to celebrate together with all of them, as well as with the ones who joined this later on, 20 years in service of the kids. There were some hard times, there were trials and challenges, but, there are so many changed lives. I praise God for giving me the privilege to be a little part of his work.”
Through the ever-evolving challenges of caring for 10 girls as they learn and grow, God has been faithful and our girls are today flourishing into confident, caring young women. It’s astonishing to see how far they’ve come thanks to the unconditional love and support from Cami as well as the encouragement of their sponsors. We can't wait to see what the future holds for them!
