234 families receive hope

We are incredibly grateful for our supporters’ generosity in keeping families together last Christmas. 234 families received the security and support they needed to stay together over Christmas and to start this year.
This support means that children can focus on their education instead of dangerous work, parents can access vital medical care and entire families, just like Chaltu’s, can look forward to a future filled with dignity and hope.
14-year-old Chaltu attends our Bethany School in Ethiopia where she receives an excellent education, daily food and healthcare. Her mother is raising a large family on her own and has faced many challenges in providing for her children. She shared how your support has transformed their lives:
"I was working as a cook in someone’s house to support my children, but when I suddenly became ill and needed surgery I could no longer afford to pay the rent. I was terrified that we would become homeless and be forced to live on the streets. However, as soon as I received the ‘Keeping Families Together’ support, I felt a breath of hope for myself and my children. The support has given us stability and the chance to rebuild our lives. I am deeply grateful to the Stand by Me project which saved us from homelessness and restored my hope, allowing me to live and appreciate life once again."
Thanks to the Keeping Families Together appeal, families like Chaltu’s have been provided with the resources they need to survive and shown the practical love of Jesus during challenging times.
While some families will need our help for only a short time, others will need this Keeping Families Together support for much longer. But we know that together, we can help improve their lives and help them become self-sufficient. Thank you for standing with our children and their families.
