Jeeva reaches Everest Base Camp

We couldn't do what we do without the support of amazing fundraisers like Jeeva who use their energy, skills, time and motivation to enhance the lives of our kids. Read below as Jeeva tells us about her Everest challenge and why she chose to fundraise for the children of Stand by Me:

On 12th May 2019, I was able to trek and reach 5364m up to Mount Everest Base Camp. Whilst wanting to conquer this dream of mine, I also wanted to be able to give something back and that’s when I came across Stand by Me.

By reading up on the amazing work that they do across the world, and by speaking with members from the charity, I wanted to be able to be part of such a fabulous organisation. As challenging as the trek was, the sense of achievement reaching the top, and even more, being able to raise £2,000 in a short time with the help of a lot of generous family members and friends, was such a rewarding feeling.

The money raised will be used to sponsor a child, as well as fund education for children in Colombia, Nepal and Myanmar, in order to give them a chance of a brighter future.

'All kids need is a little help, a little hope, and someone who believes in them’. Children are our future, and I believe it is our duty to help those less privileged and provide a light for them.

Jeeva’s incredible fundraising is already bringing light to children in Colombia, Nepal and Myanmar through loving care and a great education. These children were born into the poorest communities and written off by society, but we believe they are full of potential and deserve a bright future. Thanks to Jeeva's determination and the generosity of her friends and family, our kids are receiving regular food, medical care and a life-changing education.

This support means the world to our kids. Our kids in Colombia were incredibly thankful for Jeeva's care and sent a wonderful photo to celebrate her Everest Base Camp achievement. Thank you Jeeva and to all who supported her!

Stand by... almost there...
