Keeping our kids healthy

The health of our children is vital to their development and happiness. Many children come into our care neglected and sick, without ever having seen a doctor, dentist or optician.

We go the extra mile to ensure they are fit and well and can enjoy their childhood. We run clinics and employ nurses to carry out regular health checks so that no illness prevents our kids from getting a great education.

Many of our children and their families are affected by HIV, so we support them with our HIV Food Programme. The programme provides vital medication alongside nutritious school meals for the children and monthly food packages for the whole family. When our children eat regularly, their medication works better and they are better at fighting infections, enabling them to attend school regularly.

Lack of food and poor nutrition is an issue for many of our children around the world. Ensuring our children get meals at school and support at home is key to keeping them healthy.

Santiago and his family, from Colombia, recently received a food parcel that is helping keep the family healthy so they can continue to attend school.

Santiago said:

“I thank my sponsors for helping us with the food parcels, with the things we need, such as the help they give my sister for transportation to her medical appointments for her health check-ups. I love my sponsors very much.”

We believe that anyone can reach across the world and enable one more of our kids to have a chance at a great life. By sponsoring a child or supporting our programmes, you can change everything for a child.
