Creating a brighter future

Fedesa is 10 years old and is a friendly, polite boy who loves football and dreams of becoming a teacher. When Stand by Me first met him in 2017, he lived with his mother, grandparents, sister and cousin in a small two-roomed mud house in Ethiopia. They had no furniture or water, so the family would have to walk and collect water from the local river every day. Fedesa’s mother worked as a daily labourer, but she struggled to provide for his daily needs.

So we welcomed him into our care and he was lovingly sponsored. He now receives nutritious food, life-changing education and medication, without such care and support he might not have survived.

Now in grade 3, Fedesa is thriving. He enjoys school and has a new baby sister at home. He was delighted to choose himself clothes from treat money his sponsors sent him. His sponsors help him feel loved and supported, this encouragement motivates him to try his best and gives him dignity.
