Extra tuition helps high school students excel

University in Ethiopia is free if children are successful at High School. If our children can’t attend university, we help them through Technical College where they can qualify in trades like carpentry, plumbing, electrics, tailoring, metal work and computing. Our challenge is to help as many children as possible complete a High School education after they have finished at our Bethany School. This year we are supporting 95 students at the local school.

At High School our children need school fees, uniforms, educational resources and a little pocket money. We also encourage them to return to Bethany School for mentoring and extra tuition. Thanks to our generous supporters funding our High School students, they are receiving this vital part of their education, ensuring a successful future for themselves and their families.

Mihirat is one of the students well on her way to a brighter future. She studies in grade 10 and is preparing for the national exam which will qualify her to get into a pre-university school. She has excelled in her classes and is currently 2nd out of 70 students in her year group for her results and we couldn’t be prouder!

Each week day Mihirat returns to the Bethany School to attend English and Maths tutoring where she can ask any question she has about her work. Mihirat credits her success, in part, to this fantastic support:

“As the teachers teach us long time in the tuition class we are able to cover all lessons and we are able to ask what we do not understand in the normal class”

Thank you to everyone who has supported our Bekoji High School students at this pivotal point in their education, with your support they are excelling and have a future of opportunity to look forward to.

Stand by... almost there...
