Kethy, age 15, is full of courage. She lives in Guacamayal in Colombia where poverty is endemic and many families, hers included, struggle to make ends meet. Not only has Kethy had to stay hopeful when opportunity is scarce but she has battled with medical problems. 

We are planning a teacher training visit to Burma in late October/November. Our schools in Burma are seeking training in pre-school education, foundation, key stage 1 and key stage 2. Read the article to find out more. 

Our children at our Agape Children's Home in India had an exciting visit to Burma to see Stand by Me Projects Director Ahmad Ayoubi. Although it was only a short stay, they all had a fantastic time with Ahmad.

Thank you so much for helping us reach our goal to buy a pair of shoes for every child in our care. Your kindness has reached across the world to every Stand  by Me project and given all our kids the privilege of shoes, protecting their feet from injury and disease.

Our kids love reading. Books bring our children joy as they broaden their imagination and discover delight in immersing themselves in a story. Books expand our children’s knowledge and encourage their personal learning. We love hearing about our children’s interests and asked our kids around the world what their favourite book is:

Grace is one of our kids. She was handed to us in a bundle of rags by a policewoman. But her name wasn't Grace then, in fact, she didn't have a name at all. 

Hannah, age 13, came into our care seven years ago. Her life was turned upside down when Cyclone Nargis hit Burma, tragically killing her mother and paralysing her father.
