For parents who fear that their daughters could marry at an early age, the Khairang Bethany School is a voice of hope. 

Orphaned and roaming the streets of Dembi Dollo at five years old, Natinael had a life of hardship that no child should ever experience. We could not walk past him, we had to intervene and thanks to Natinael’s sponsor we are now meeting all his needs.

In January 2017 we officially opened our children’s village in the town of Taungii, offering a loving family for eight children who have been rescued from extreme poverty.

Approaching the valley of Dhading, there is a view that catches your eye, a sea of glistening tin roofs glimmer in the sunshine where two years previously there were only dusty hills covered with orange and blue tarpaulin tents. 

Occupying the largest site in the heart of Guacamayal is a building referred to by children and parents alike as "The Centro". A far cry from the surrounding dark and squalid housing, the Emmanuel Care Centre is a hub exploding with joy and hope. 

In Bekoji, a big step for Stand by Me was opening an ICT lab, the first of its kind in Bekoji where electricity supply is often unreliable. The computer lab is in full use for students of all ages and the children are delighted to gain practical experience with technology. 

Each day José comes to the Stand by Me care centre for food, homework help, games and medical care when needed. However, last year we started to notice some behaviour changes in José and discovered that he was struggling to cope with his parents separation.  

Aung's family of six were affectionate but exceedingly poor, struggling to make ends meet. Aung’s father, in desperation to provide for his children, trafficked drugs to India but was caught at the border and sentenced to seven years in prison.
