In January, we gave brand new shoes to all 4,250 children in our care! Our children can feel proud as they walk, run or skip to school, knowing their feet are safe and protected.

These shoes are life-changing for our children, whose families cannot afford to give shoes. Many children who recently joined our Stand by Me family, received their first-ever pair of shoes. Our other children now have shoes that fit, are comfortable and supportive.

We are proud to know each of our children, we take time to understand their needs and hopes. We invest our time, love and attention raising them to know they are loved and accepted for who they are. By knowing each of our children so well, we can provide for their specific needs.

Throughout the world, our projects are equipping our children with skills and resources they need to thrive.

One of our wonderful staff members, Jo, is sleeping on the floor this February, she explains her reasons why on her fundraising page. 

“Giving up my bed for a week and asking for money are both out of my comfort zone. But February on the Floor is not about me, it's about the wonderful children who are part of Stand by Me's care.”

We are delighted to start 2022 off by welcoming our new project in Kenya into the Stand by Me family. We know that with your support, we can meet the needs of many more children, helping them to become everything they were born to be.

We love to celebrate our children’s achievements. Two of our students from Nepal have recently been awarded outstanding results in their SEE examinations (the equivalent to GCSEs). Despite challenges from the pandemic, they have achieved a top honour.

The last year has been exceptionally hard for our children in Myanmar. We believe they all deserve the opportunity to learn. We have purchased tablets to allow them to still have access to education despite the chaos around them. These tablets are a lifeline for our children's education.
